We began this Meetup site as a portal for local Ron Paul supporters to meet, communicate, and organize. Although we still support Ron Paul in his presidential campaign, it's pretty obvious and unfortunate he won't be the one getting sworn into the Oval Office next January.
The R3VOLUTION however, still lives on. It is in this spirit that we have changed the name and focus of our group, in hopes that we can continue to educate and inspire people, coordinate and mobilize with the fine people we've met and come to know while campaigning for the Good Doctor, and perhaps live to see the day when America is returned to the rule of law, and liberty and justice for all will once again prevail. For the near future, we will continue to meet Tuesdays at the Washington County Municipal Center in the basement of Building B. Ultimately, I would like to see the bulk of our discussions take place on this site. We've endeavored to keep our meetings open to anyone who's wanted to attend, but the unfortunate by-product of our good intention is that we've been infiltrated by a couple members who seem to be more interested in obstructing our efforts rather than assisting them. There's nothing wrong with dissent, or taking a contrary position in a debate, but these individuals are more intent on disruption than discussion, and it's evident this has taken a toll on our group's morale and attendance. Where does it go from here? I'm hoping we can bring the same enthusiasm and support that we experienced in supporting Ron Paul directly to the issues that brought him to our attention in the first place. Imagine sign-wavings and distributing info on the Iraq War, the so-called War on Terror, the loss of our liberties here at home, 9-11 Truth on the level of intensity we've demonstrated over these past few months. I hope our current members will remain, and that our numbers will continue to grow. The flame of liberty has indeed been rekindled. Let's not allow it to be snuffed by a few setbacks, and those who seek to convince us that life under a police/nanny state would not be an entirely bad thing. The struggles for freedom, truth, and justice never end. In adjusting the ways we do battle, I'm hoping all you good soldiers will find all the more reason to remain in the fight. Warmest regards, Tony |
