Details
OK Everyone, we had a great meeting last week and had a great discussion about city politics, the Republican party in Minneapolis, and the future direction of this meetup. We came up with some good ideas and strategy.
It is about time to start to change the focus of this meetup to local politics - specifically municipal government issues. While we are continuing the Revolution on the national level and still have the state and national convention coming up (as well as rallies, meetups and other activities), we've got many people now getting active in precincts around the state and we have an opportunity to spread our revolutionary message on local as well as national issues. City government directly impacts our lives every single day, and Minneapolis for example has one of the most wasteful and expensive city governments in the country! We've got lots of work to do right here at home!
So come on down to the Club and let us know what you hate most about city government. I know I have quite the laundry list personally. We need creative ideas to make local government more efficient and responsive, and we need creative strategies on how to elect limited government representatives to city offices.
We've also decided to meet on Tuesday evenings which are a little quieter and more conducive to discussions - and pretty soon we'll be able to meet outside in der Garten!
Looking forward to seeing you at our next meetup!
Klaus
