Good Day All,
I wanted to send out my usual email update on what was discussed and decided at the Monthly meeting we held this past Friday night at Raven Heart Coffee. First of all thanks to the members who showed up and those who tried to show but couldn't. Well here we go..... 1) Senator Jon Kyl Arizona's Junior Republican Senator will be speaking here in town next week. Our plan is to go and ask him some hard questions about his voting record. We plan on video taping this and putting on youtube. We feel one of the missions for the meetup groups could be getting the politicians from their states on record about their voting on some important issues. We want to ask about NAFTA, NAU, Federal Reserve, Patriot Act etc... Here is a link on his voting record: http://projects.washi... Read through and give us feedback on his voting and maybe a question we can ask about that record. Also looking for someone with a Camera to come and help us video tape. 2) John had a thought for a suggestion to the main campaign and what it could do with some of the money left over from the running for president. His concept was for a series of professionally made educational DVD's, that could be distributed to the American people. This would help bring this much needed information about where our country is and how to start fixing it, to the public. 3)The national march was discussed and most agreed that the movements energy could be better spent elsewhere. An example was brought forward about the big pro-peace marches against the Iraq war, in the weeks leading up to the beginning of the war. As we now millions marched across the country/world and it did very little. We felt that this energy could be better focused on getting the message of Freedom to the people. Being that only 10% of the group made it to the meeting, it would be great to get a discussion going on the message board and through this email. Let us know your thoughts and ideas on what I just updated you with. Also plan on next monthly meeting being on April 24th a Thursday at 6pm, hopefully more people can make that day. In Liberty, Damian |

Hi All,
Sorry for not making it out to the meetup; car troubles. Obviously, Kyl's record is bad on many issues, including the ones you planned to grill him on. An interesting idea might be to bring up HR2755, an act written by RP to abolish the Fed. Reserve. ( http://www.google.com... No camera, but will try to show as support, if desired. I agree with the DVD idea. A brokored convention isn't likely; a takeover is political suicide. Aside, there have been rumblings of a nationwide movement on the way; the last interview of RP I heard, he said to keep an eye on ronpaul.org for signs of that. I also agree with the Washington march assessment. If anything, look for chipin's to help people near D.C. make it there. My personal feeling is that, as far as the political arena, we should shift to concentrating on Congress/Senate races. Other than that, we can move to boister or take over the Lib. and Constitution parties. (Or, take over the GOP... A larger task, but a larger victory...) I don't see a lot of action in the local Lib. party, and there may be a framework there we can work with. Just as a note, I'm thinking of supporting Sydney Hay for Congress (R, ld1), but hope a Libertarian will run. (http://www.sydneyhayf... Outside of the political sphere, we can work on education, as always. I also think civil disobedience is an option, and will make a seperate post regarding that. Forward, to the precious Liberty we seek, Clayton PS. If I don't post seperately about secession, I'll quickly say here that I feel that is the best option to work towards. To simply disentangle ourselves from the federal guv. may be much easier than reforming it. |
