Report from our last meeting, sorry for the delayâ?¦.

On Thursday 10th of January â?? we had our third meeting of the Paris Ron Paul Meetup Group at le Trésor.

We were 9 altogether of which 5 who came for the first time (!).

It was very tempting to discuss at length the last events of the US campaign.
But since some of us had to leave early we decided to leave the general discussion for the end of the meeting and to concentrate on concrete actions to help Ron Paulâ??s campaign.

We had a brainstorming session on actions we could take.

Here are some ideas we came up with:

PROJECT: Reaching out to US citizens in Paris by distributing campaign material. Putting Ron Paul placards at strategic locations.

We have now quite a lot of campaign material received from Maureen and the RP staff.
Once again, it was agreed that this could not be done by French people only.
But if US citizens want to distribute leaflets at strategic locations (US University of Paris, US Churches, etcâ?¦) some French said there would be ready to help.

ACTION: Emy said she would do it this week.
Jean Frédéric said he would make placards.

PROJECT: Making another video of support before the 5th February

Our last video worked pretty well and this is an easy way to touch the US public.
It was suggested we try to shoot another (short) video by the Statue of Liberty in Paris.
The best date seems to be the first week end of February.

ACTION: I will put a date of our Meetup calendar. We will only do it if enough members say they will come (no need to shoot a video with 5 people).

PROJECT: be present at events in Paris which attracts US media coverage and show Ron Paul placards;

We should find some events (visit of actors, of major politicians, high profile conferences etcâ?¦) with possible US media coverage.

ACTION: PhilippeL and Jean Frédéric are in charge of finding possible events and preparing the material.

PROJECT: organise discussions with other groups of supporters in Paris (Hillary, Obama). And try to see if we canâ??t win over some of them members ï??

ACTION: I will look up on Meetup and Facebook and try to arrange a meeting.

PROJECT: buy advertisements in magazines read by American in Paris.

ACTION: Some of our members seem ready to contribute (contact Jean Frédéric).

Compte rendu de notre dernière réunion. Désolé pour le retard�

Le jeudi 10 janvier, nous avons eu notre troisième réunion du groupe Paris Ron Paul.

Nous étions 9 en tout et 5 dâ??entre nous participaient pour la première fois (!).

Câ??était vraiment tentant de discuter en détails les dernières informations sur la campagne américaine. Mais comme certains dâ??entre nous devaient partir tôt, nous avons décidé de laisser la discussion pour la fin de la réunion et de se concentrer sur des actions concrètes pour soutenir la campagne de Ron Paul.

On a fait une session de brainstorming sur les actions possibles.

Voilà quelques idées que nous avons eues :

PROJECT: Essayer dâ??atteindre des Américains à Paris en distribuant des tracts. Coller des affiches à des endroits sensibles.

Nous avons maintenant pas mal de matériel de campagne.
Si on fait ça, il faut que les Américains dâ??impliquent.

ACTION: Emy a dit quâ??elle essayera dâ??être disponible pendant la semaine.
Jean Frédéric veut bien faire des affiches.

PROJECT: Faire une autre vidéo de soutien avant le 5 février.

Notre première vidéo a pas mal marché. Câ??est une manière facile de toucher le public US et de marquer notre soutien aux supporters américains.
On est dâ??accord pour le faire devant la statue de la Liberté à Paris.
La meilleure date semble être le premier week end de Février.

ACTION: Je vais mettre une date sur le calendrier Meetup. Mais nous ne ferons la vidéo que si assez de gens acceptent de venir (pas besoin de tourner une nouvelle vidéo avec 5 personnes)

PROJECT: détourner des évènements à Paris qui pourraient attirer lâ??attention des média américains en montrant des affiches Ron Paul.

On doit trouver des évènements (visite dâ??acteur ou de politiciens connus (Al Gore), conférences.)
ACTION: Philippe L et Jean Frédéric sont dâ??accord pour trouver les occasions et préparer le matériel.

ACTION: Je vais regarder sur Meetup et Facebook et voir sâ??ils veulent nous rencontrer.

PROJECT: acheter de la pub dans des magazines lus par les Américains de Paris.

ACTION: Quelques uns de nos participants semblaient prêts à donner de lâ??argent (contacter Jean Frédéric).
