Here is the Tea Party info (from the Young Republicans): We're all invited to the TEA Party in Charlotte on Halloween Day (10/31/09 from 10:00 am - 12:pm). Hope to see you there! We come from diverse backgrounds, but we believe in these basic principals: 1. The Constitution was written to limit the powers of the government, not the freedoms of the people. 2. Personal responsibility, Free Markets, and a Laissez-faire (hands off) government is what creates jobs, wealth, and greatness in America 3. Taxation should be fair, equal, and minimal (every dollar collected in taxation is a dollar that is taken from our productive economy) 4. Government spending should be done prudently, and it is criminal for politicians to be spending our kid's future on the immediate 5. Government involvement = politicians picking winners and losers = corruption We will have some dynamic speakers, invite local candidates to speak, and in the spirit of Halloween, there will be a costume contest for the kids.
